Insurance & Billing

Insurance

I am in-network with:

  • Aetna

    • I am a Clear Pricing Project provider (CPP) which means if you have the NC State Health Plan with AETNA NC then you have $0 copay for therapy!

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (including Blue Advantage, Blue Care, Blue Options, Blue Value (individual and employer plans), and Classic Blue).

  • Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA)

  • MedCost (through CBHA only)

  • I do not accept Medicaid and Medicare insurance plans.

If you have an insurance plan that I do not accept, you can request a superbill (receipt) to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I can not guarantee reimbursement. You will be responsible for submitting the superbill and communicating with your insurance provider.

Rates

  • I charge $175 for the intake session and $150 per 53-minute session. In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a lower fee.

  • I accept all major credit cards as well as HSA/FSA cards for payment. Clients must have a credit card on file in the client portal.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please cancel the appointment with a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your appointment time. If a minimum of 48 hours notice is not provided, you will be charged the full private pay session fee ($150) for the missed appointment. Insurance companies do not reimburse for missed appointments. Exceptions to this policy exist (i.e. emergencies, extreme illness) and are at the practice's discretion. Work issues do not constitute emergencies. In the event of adverse weather conditions, we can conduct counseling sessions virtually through a HIPAA compliant platform.

Wait Time

Due to the length of time provided for each session, it is important that you are on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment, we will have no choice but to reschedule your appointment and you will be responsible for the missed appointment fee as per the cancellation policy.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
