Areas of Emphasis

  • Anxiety is more than just your normal stress and worry, it can waiver from feeling apprehensive or wanting to avoid certain situations to greatly altering your life by giving up your decisions to the anxiety. Therapy for anxiety can be anxiety inducing itself because it requires you to face your fears and practice new skills (like acceptance, tolerance of uncertainty, and mindfulness) that may feel unnatural to you at first. This is why finding the right therapist, who you can trust as a part of this process, is vital.

  • Depression takes many shapes and is more commonly experienced than we’re willing to admit. Treatment can be as simple as reflection and conversation. In therapy, you will learn ways to change, accept, or adapt to life events that are contributing to your symptoms of depression. We will work together to identify distorted thoughts and unhelpful behaviors that are contributing to your symptoms. You will learn skills to help you cope with your current symptoms and possible future episodes. No matter how we address depression, leaving it unchecked isn’t an option.

  • Education is a demanding field where you’re almost always expected to put yourself second (or 3rd, or 4th, or…). It is common for educators to feel compassion fatigue or secondary trauma stress. Let me help, as a fellow educator AND a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, as you make your own mental health a priority.

We are a Clear Pricing Project provider with the BCBS State Health Plan, which means your therapy sessions are 100% covered by insurance and at NO COST to you!

  • Adolescents can be overwhelmed with not just having to “do it all” but be perfect, always (yay social media). Struggles in the classroom, discovering identity, planning post graduation plans, pressures of being a recruited athlete, the overwhelming anxiety and depression that comes from not understanding why trying your hardest doesn’t always get you the result you want…it can be a lot!

As someone who has worked with teenagers for 15+ years I can help sort through these feelings, develop coping strategies, and offer a safe space to talk about the pressures of life.

  • Trauma comes in many forms, from childhood trauma to PTSD to a recent event.

As a Brainspotting and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) trained therapist, I can create an individualized treatment plan using evidenced based therapies and somatic approaches to help you regulate distressing emotions, develop healthy coping strategies for life’s challenges, reclaim your sense of safety, and rebuild trust in yourself and others.

  • The struggle is real! Your mid-to-late 20’s and early 30s can be overwhelming as you transition from your ideal to the uncertainty within discovering your place personally and professionally in the world around you. These feelings are normal - but having someone you can work with in self-reflection and during this growth can help with the stress and anxiety you feel.
